Meet Our Team

Managing Director

Jamie Hickson

Hi, my name is Jamie, I am the owner of blueberry care and have been since its inception.
I believe everyone has their own unique story of how they started in the healthcare industry; here’s mine.

My mother spent a period of time in a Care Home where I frequently visited her, always astonished by the quality of the care that was offered to her and the support of the staff that helped her during this time.

Once my mother passed, I realised the care industry was one that was significantly worth engaging in, and with my business background I decided the best way for me to support a caring company would be to create my own; blueberry care
A little over a decade later, I find myself in a very fortunate position with an incredible group of people around me, providing care that the team and myself can be very proud of. My goal is to set the standard for all of those in the blueberry care team and have us provide the best quality care in our area.

So far, I am incredibly proud of all of the people whose bios are below, as well as our day-to-day carers and office staff and everything we have achieved together.

Operations Director

Rachel Hamilton

Hi I’m Rachel and I have worked for blueberry care since September 2015. It was a big decision for me to return to work after a long career break with my children, but one that I am very happy with. I joined as an Accounts Assistant and over the years my role developed to cover all financial functions, including invoicing and payroll. This has given me a real insight into the workings of the business, and allowed me to see things from the perspective of both clients and staff.
It’s a pleasure to work with such an amazing team who are always striving to provide the best possible service. In my new position as Operations Director, I am very much looking forward to supporting with this and having the opportunity to make a difference. I am approachable and will always welcome feedback and encourage discussion. We have such a wealth of knowledge, compassion and experience within blueberry care and this will be instrumental in leading the business into an exciting future.

I joined the blueberry team 6 years ago, starting as a care worker in the Alsager area. I really enjoyed my time out in the field, but the opportunity arose to work in the office as the Recruitment Resourcer.
I am the first point of contact for anyone who wants to join our team and I love being able to support a new staff member through the process, I still get a buzz seeing a new recruit put on their uniform for the first time.
I wanted to work in the care sector to help support people living independently for as long as possible.
